Nick Hartgerink is a Kiama-based media consultant and writer, with more than 40 years’ experience in the media industry. He worked at the Illawarra Mercury from 1977 to 2001, and was Editor from 1995-2001. In 2001 he established his own media consultancy, and since then has worked with many leading national and Illawarra-based companies and organisations, including 12 years as a consultant to the University of Wollongong. Nick is the author of seven books, including a best-selling biography of motorcycle champion Wayne Gardner which was used as the basis for the documentary movie WAYNE released in September 2018. He is also the author of a history of the University of Wollongong, published in 2011. His eighth book will be published later this year.
Kim Treasure, is Managing Editor, NSW South for Australian Community Media (now part of the NINE organisation since the merger with Fairfax). She is responsible for all the regional publications from the Victorian border to Dubbo.
